Baby Shower Sunday August 29th


If you live in the DFW Metroplex, head out to The Medical Center of Plano on Sunday. They are hosting a giant baby shower and there will be all kinds of great stuff for expecting moms! We will be there with our new baby items, not yet for sale in stores or online! We hope to see you there!

Oatmeal Cake


An oldie but super goodie! Thanks to Suzi Rankin for sharing.

Oatmeal Cake

1 1/4 C boiling water 1 1/3 C flour
1 C oatmeal 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 C oleo 1 tsp soda
1 C sugar 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 C light brown sugar 1/2 C chopped pecans
2 eggs

Mix oatmeal with hot water and let stand 20 min. Cream together
oleo and sugars. Add eggs and oatmeal mixture. Blend in flour,
salt, soda,cinnamon and nuts. Mix until smooth and pour into
greased oblong pan (9x13) Bake 35 min. at 350.

Topping

1/2 C brown sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla
6 Tblsp. oleo 1/2 C coconut
1/4 C whipping cream 1/2 C pecans

Mix and spread on cake and broil under broiler 3-4 min.

Paula Deen's Piggy Pudding




We are so excited to have our aprons mentioned in Paula Deen's Best Dishes 2010!





16 link pork sausages (I use Hormel maple, in freezer section)

4-5 green apples peeled, cored and sliced.

1 package jiffy corn muffin mix.

½ cup canned creamed corn

Maple syrup

Sliced sharp cheddar cheese

Cook sausage in skillet until done.

Prepare cornbread batter according to directions on jiffy box. Add ½ cup creamed corn to batter.

Arrange sausage links in bottom of a 9 inch square baking dish. Layer sliced apples on top of sausages. Pour cornbread batter over apples and bake in a 400 degree oven for 15-20 minutes or until cornbread is done.

Serve with maple syrup and cheddar slices.

Father's Day Brunch



Here is a recipe for a yummy breakfast casserole that we are sure Dad will love. And if you haven't gotten Dad anything for Father's Day, we think he would like The Big Daddy Apron (perfect for grilling) from Jen Rosie Designs! We also have a matching Little Man Apron and Chef Hat for Dad's helpers.

Noel's Egg Casserole

5 eggs, slightly beaten

¼ C flour

¼ tsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

1 (10 oz) pkg creamed cottage cheese

¼ lb butter, softened

½ lb Monterrey Jack cheese, grated

1 (4 oz) can chopped green chilies

Preheat oven to 350.

Mix all ingredients together with spoon; will look lumpy.

Pour into 8” square pan, greased.

Bake 40-50 minutes.

Cut into squares and serve.

Serves 6-8.

Reheats well for leftovers!
